Facebook Has Created A "Sympathize" Button

Facebook's staff has "hackathons" in which the staff explores new ideas and experiment with the site. In a 'hackathon' that happened a while ago, a Facebook engineer created a "Sympathize" button since the "like" button can get awkward and out-of-the-place many times. Like, if you post about that bad day you had, someone died, or you had an accident and those people in your list hit the like button? Yeah, that's a good example. Like means like. And a status about a bad incident being 'liked'...wrong message.

The button would not appear on every post, but if you add a "feeling" that is sad/depressed, instead of a 'like' button, Facebook would add a "sympathize" button. Which would go like "3 people sympathize with this status".

Although the idea is being 'liked' a lot, but Facebook's staff has stated that it wont be showing up any time soon. So don't expect to "sympathize" a status any sooner. Rumor has it that they even have a "dislike" button, but I doubt we'll ever get it. I mean, I alone know nearly over a 100 people who would instantly remove you for "disliking" their status. So...

The engineers over at Facebook keeps testing new stuff out, so it's possible that the button might get added sooner or later, but under a new name perhaps? Or this idea gets scrapped and an entirely new button gets added.

What do you think of the "sympathize" button? Should it hit Facebook? Or should it hit the trash can? Share your opinion with us!
