Facebook Is Buying The WhatsApp Messenger

Facebook is purchasing the popular messaging mobile app WhatsApp for $16 billion dollars, which includes an extra $3 billion for the owners of WhatsApp in restricted stock for the next four years.

WhatsApp messenger has over 450 million users and the number increases in thousands everyday. It competes with Snapchat, however, Whatsapp is much more established. WhatsApp is mainly used by people who love texting but choose not to use the regular texting methods because of the charges, and sending messages through the internet has always been cheaper.

Facebook also tried to purchase Snapchat last year with a $3 billion offer, however, Snapchat owners refused. So Facebook went for the better choice.
