Flappy Bird's Developer Is Taking The Game Down

The developer of the mobile game "Flappy Bird", which featured the background from Mario games, mainly the green pipes, the gameplay from the "Helicopter" game and got extremely high attention in both users of iOS and Android devices, as well as the media, going above 100,000 downloads, is now getting taken down.

Flappy Bird's developer, Dong Nguyen, has tweeted that:
I am sorry 'Flappy Bird' users, 22 hours from now, I will take 'Flappy Bird' down. I cannot take this anymore.

He's taking the infamous Flappy Bird app down, and before you assume it's because of copyright(most likely from Nintendo), it's not. He stated:
It is not anything related to legal issues. I just cannot keep it anymore.

He also tweeted earlier that:
I can call 'Flappy Bird' is a success of mine. But it also ruins my simple life. So now I hate it.

It is most likely due to the extremely negative attention the game is recieving. Despite the majority being addicted to it, they are bashing the game greatly, mainly due to it's repetitiveness. Some have even took the liberty to call the game the work of the devil. The media is also very harsh to the game, mocking it and greatly critisicing it despite the fact it was never meant to be a video game but just a random app.

According to Business Insider, Flappy Bird is "generating $50,000 in sales per day".
