The Man Who Claims To Be Jesus' Reincarnation

Self-claimed Jesus riding on a scooter. Gold.

A 66 year old man from Brasilia, Brazil, called Inri Cristo(who was born as Álvaro Theiss), claims that he is a reincarnation of Jesus. For the past 35 years, he has travelled to 27 countries, have been arrested 40 times and have been expelled from Britian, the US and Venezuela.

He has been claiming to be Jesus since the age of 21, in 1969, introducing himself as "Iuri de Nostradamus". He has "hundreds of followers" from different countries, which include the UK, Britain and France, while some live with him in his church which is outside Brasilia. Inri claims that a "powerful voice" speaks in his head, which he follows.

Most of the followers who live with him(the majority being women), have been following him for decades. The oldest follower is 86 years old and has been following him for 32 years, while the youngest is now 24 years old, having met him when she was only two years old. He and his followers live on homegrown fruit like bananas, avocados and mangos. They also have a vegetable gardem.

Inri's statements and views have often caused controversy and got him arrested and expelled. He says "I know that there are countless people scattered throughout Brazil and the world whose hearts beat together with mine.". He dislikes and refuses to celebrate Christmas, stating "It is a day when the little sons of the rich can show the gifts they received while the poor children only get a crumb, so it is a very sad day for anyone who sees things with the eyes that I see."

He has been criticised as mentally ill, although Inri declines. He says:
I can be crazy but not dumb. Madness is different from dementia. It is the mother of philosophers, prophets and inventors. My mission is to prepare the elect, the survivors of the inevitable nuclear hecatomb that will culminate in the end of this chaotic world, for the formation of the new earthly society, which will strive to fulfill the Creator's will.
