Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas iOS, Android, Windows Phone and Amazon Kindle Ports Confirmed!

One of the most beloved Grand Theft Auto games, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is now heading to the iOS 7, Android, Windows Phone and Amazon Kindle platforms. It is confirmed to release later this year, sometime in December.

Rockstar stated on the official website:

Before GTAV took us to the sun-bleached sidewalks and humming concrete freeways of present-day Los Santos and beyond, there was Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, the biggest GTA of the PS2 era. Now, head back to the early 90s with CJ and the Grove Street Families when Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas comes to mobile devices next month.

They also stated that the new version will have "remastered" graphics and content, calling it the "best-looking version of San Andreas" yet:

Encompassing Los Santos, San Fierro, Las Venturas and everything in between, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas has been upgraded for its mobile release. Newly remastered graphics including dynamic and detailed shadows, greater draw distance, an enriched color palette, plus enhanced character and car models make this the best-looking version of San Andreas yet.
It features "brand new" touch controls, including "contextual control options" to display buttons only when you need them, which will tone down the screen coverage touch-controls take, along with "three different control schemes for driving and maneuvering". It will also feature a reworked "checkpoint system for easier progression. It will also have full controller support, including the "Made for iOS controller capability" on iOS7.

That is all we know so far and Rockstar has stated "Stay tuned for more details in the weeks ahead". December is almost here, so the details will be here very soon AND the releases will start for the iOS7, Android, Windows Phone and Amazon Kindle devices. Which order they arrive in, is yet to be known, but we do know that it wont be available in all of the platforms at the same time!

This could also set a new benchmark for mobile games, as such a large open-world game of it's kind has not yet been seen. So we can now expect larger games with console-quality in the near future!
