Top 12 Most Popular Upcoming Video Games of 2012

As the end of 2012 is getting near, the year is not leaving without some heat. Many awesome and major titles are coming out before 2012 leaves, here is my list of the top 10 most popular upcoming video games of 2012!
Note: The numbers are not in a rank-wise order.


12. FIFA 13

FIFA 13 is the twentieth edition of Electronic Arts' highly-acclaimed association football FIFA video game series. I don't have much to say about this game, because if I start writing of it's countries, features and updates, the post would be longer than all of the other 11 games that are mentioned in this post, COMBINED! Yes, this is how awesome this game is going to be! However, the commentators are yet to be confirmed, but they, of course will be in the game that is coming out soon enough! If you're a football fan, get this right when it comes out!


11. Need For Speed: Most Wanted (2012)

Need For Speed: Most Wanted is a racing video game, being the nineteenth title in the world-famous Need For Speed series. The game will pick on the first NFS: Most Wanted game, which was released back in 2005, featuring the cops, black-lists and many new features along. If you like high speed chases and fast-thrilling racing action, you don't want to miss NFS: MW!


10. Dead Space 3

Dead Space 3 is a third person shooter game and the sequel to Dead Space 2, being the third main entry in the Dead Space Series. The game is set on a frozen planet called Tau Volantis and will follow protagonists Isaac Clarke and Seargeant John Carver as they attempt to stop the Necromorph scourge. The game will be featuring a drop-in/drop-out co-operative mode which will unlock "additional story details and gameplay mechanics only found when playing as the co-op character, EarthGov Sergeant John Carver." as stated by EA at a press conference. The game is a very interesting addition to the epic Dead Space series and the fans should totally get this one!


9. Far Cry 3

Far Cry 3 is an open-world First Person Shooter and the sequel to Far Cry 2. Far Cry 3 takes place on a tropical island which is somewhere at the intersection of the Indian and Pacific Oceans. The main goal of the player will be to escape from the Islands and their crazed inhabitants. There will be more than one islands in the game to escape from, as mentioned by Dan Hay. The developers have stated that the game will feature a map 10 times larger than the previous instalments. The game also features role-playing elements such as experience points, a skill-tree and the crafting system. Far Cry fans and FPS gamers should totally try out the new epic instalment of Far Cry 3!


8. Hitman: Absolution

The popular stealth game is back, with the fifth instalment in the series, Hitman: Absolution! The game will run IO Interactive's proprietary Glacier 2 game engine. The game will take place in United States, with an online mode, along with an ''Instinct Mode'' , which allows Agent 47 to predict enemy patrol routes. The developers have stated that the game will be lowered in difficulty, making the game easier than previous instalments. David Bateson was removed from the project, but due to negative feedback, he was added back to it, and will be returning to voice Agent 47. This game is a must have for every Hitman fan and new gamers alike!


7. Dishonored

Dishonored is a first-person stealth action video game. The game uses the Unreal Engine 3. The game is set in the industrial city of Dunwali, the game follows a legendary bodyguard to the Empress, who is then framed for her murder, which forces him to become an assassin and hunt those who framed him for the murder, in his quest, he is aided by the Outsider, a powerful being which imbues him with magical abilities. The game will be played on a first-person perspective, the player assassinates the enemy in several ways, using stealth, magic or both combined. The game also features role-playing elements and different decisions and ways you progress. The game seems very interesting and if you love stealth, then don't miss it!


6. WWE '13

The second game in the WWE series and the fifteenth game in the combined overall series, the sequel to WWE '12 is here! The game will focus on the ''Attitude Era'' of WWE instead of the ''Road To Wrestlemania'', in the game, the player will play through the Attitude Era. The game gives an important role to characters such as ''Stone Cold Steve Austin'' and elements such as ''Monday Night Wars'' more than previous WWE games. The game uses a new engine, ''Predator Technology 2.0'', replacing the first version from WWE '12. The engine has been updated for more detail and fluid visuals, it also allows over 300 moves now, along with past bugs and issues fixed. If you are a fan of wrestling and like wrestling video games, then this is the perfect game for you!


5. Call of Duty: Black Ops II

The block-buster First Person Shooter returns with the ninth game in the Call of Duty franchise, and the sequel to the 2010 CoD game, Call of Duty: Black Ops. For the first time in the franchise, the game will feature branching storylines, where actions and missions will affect the 2025 storyline. There will be 2 parts of the game, one taking place with Alex Mason around the 1970s to 1980s and the other one, with Alex Mason's son, David, in the year 2025. The game is also the first CoD game to have a futuristic setting. The popular zombie mode also makes a return, having it's own campaign along with the main story, and it will feature 8 player co-op, unlike the previous ones, which featured 4 player co-op. If you are a CoD fan and love multiplayer FPS action, then this is the game for you!


4. Resident Evil 6

The legendary horror-survivor game genre that took zombies to a whole new level is back with Resident Evil 6! This epic new instalment is fully packed with hours of awesomeness! The game will feature 3 characters to play with, each having their own scenario, Leon, Chris and the son of the Wesker, Jake, with their storylines connected to each other. A fourth scenario will be unlocked once the player has finished the other 3, featuring Ada Wong as the character. Each character will also have a partner, in a similar manner to Resident Evil 5. All those who are new to the series, and the die hard fans of the franchise should get this epic addition to the awesome Resident Evil franchise!


3. Borderlands 2

The epic sequel to the popular Borderlands, building upon the gameplay elements introduced in the previous instalment is almost here! The game is a First Person Shooter with character-building elements which are found in role-playing video games, thus being called a ''role-playing shooter'' by Gearbox. The 3-branch skill trees, class-mods, and four-player online cooperative modes return, while the new features include a more expansive and customizable weapons system, reworked four-seat drift-able vehicles and vehicle physics elements, and dynamic quest systems, such as if you take too much time to save a friend in a quest, it may result in their death and the failure of the quest, which will affect the story as the player progresses. Many other things have also been updated, such as enemy AI and that the whole world would be connected, not just region-wise.If you enjoyed the first Borderlands game, then you should totally get this one!


2. Assassin's Creed III

Assassin's Creed III is back with the fifth major instalment in the series and titled as the third! The main portion of the game will be set during AND after the American Revolution from 1753 to 1783. The new protagonist is half-English and half-Native American, Connor Kenway, birth name Ratonhnhaké:ton. The game will also feature the present day, as Desmond Miles must try to stop the 2012 apocalypse, players will play as him more than any previous instalment. The game features a new engine called ''Anvil Next'', said to provide the "next-gen Assassin's Creed experience." The game also features some epic ship combat, along with a new co-operative multiplayer mode called 'Wolf Pack'. The mode will allow players to form teams of up to 4 people and work collectively to eliminate NPC assassination targets, known as 'Moles'. There are a total of 25 sequences, or 'waves' to complete, with each wave increasing in difficulty. DON'T miss this game or you will be missing out on a LOT!

Halo returns with another epic instalment in the extremely popular series! Halo 4 is the eighth instalment in the series, will be the start of a new trilogy, which is known as the ''Reclaimer Trilogy''. Master Chief will return as a protagonist for the instalment, and the game will take place 4 years after the ending of Halo 3. Halo will feature a new game mode called ''Spartan Ops'', which will be story-driven, it can be played as single player or co-operatively, with up to three other players. Halo 4 will also include the map editing tool called Forge. The game will be created by 343 Industries, instead of Bungie who previously made the Halo games. Be sure to catch this epic instalment!
