How Accepting DmC: Devil May Cry Was Like Accepting Homosexuality For A Man

Note: This article is a piece of satire in terms of the given 'comparison' and does not mean to offend or stereotype anyone, although the things written in it actually happened.

So, I believe we all remember that incident with DmC: Devil May Cry. Basically, it was developer vs gamers, as the fans of the original Devil May Cry were greatly against the reboot.

Yeah, yeah, I know no one wants to remember that incident. But there's a little story of a man in-between all that. A man known by a few, but seen by thousands, on pages, in groups, on YouTube. I wont tell you his name, as I wont invade his privacy. But know this, I am about to tell his story to you all.

Since DmC: Devil May Cry was announced, I, myself, being a fan of the original Devil May Cry series, was against the reboot. So in-between all that, I was invited into several groups and pages that were anti-DmC. There, I saw this man who hated DmC: Devil may Cry with all of his soul, would speak against Ninja Theory, Capcom, Tameem Antoniades, Alex Jones, DmC: Devil May Cry and everything else related to it.

So, then the demo came out, he spoke against it a lot and was bashing the game and all. Then one day, I notice that he's like, wishing to play the game while saying he hates it. And everyone else was planning to boycott the game to let the sales speak as the developers weren't listening to the gamers otherwise, but this one guy wanted to play the game. Before the game was out, he made a status...

I know I hate this game but I fucken love fuck it

Although that can be hard to understand, I sort of like, decrypted this message and he actually wrote that about DmC: Devil May Cry that he knows he hates this game, but he 'fucking loves' it as well.

So basically, he actually loved the game but he hated it because he could not accept the fact he loves it...so he kept trying to resist it and bashed it all around the internet, yet deep inside he loved the game...

This can be easily compared to how some people have trouble accepting homosexuality...

They try to resist the attraction to the same sex, they speak against it, join anti-gay groups but then after a lot of trying to resist, they eventually give in to it and accept homosexuality...

So this is the story of the guy, for whom accepting DmC: Devil May Cry was like accepting homosexuality.

So, readers, if you love a game but hating it is mainstream, don't hate it and just accept that you love it and play it.

Have you ever hated a game just because it's mainstream to hate it?
